We need foster carers from a variety of backgrounds and with different life experiences. There is no typical foster carer but you will need to have the skills and qualities to help meet the needs of children and young people in your care. There are some requirements to be a foster carer which include:

• You need to be a minimum of 21 years-old
• You need to have a spare bedroom large enough for a young person, unless you intend to foster children under the age of 2, where they can sleep in the foster carer’s bedroom
• You need to be a full-time resident in the UK
• You need to live close enough to Stoke-on-Trent to maintain links with schools, parents and peers. Any meetings that are attended will usually be in the Stoke-on-Trent area
