If you’re thinking about transferring from another foster agency, then we’d love to hear from you. We’re always on the lookout for approved foster carers to join our team. Here are some of the reasons to transfer to fostering at Stoke-on-Trent City Council: 

• You will have a dedicated social worker to support you through every step of the process
• You will have your own ‘buddy’- an experienced foster carer
• Our training and support groups take place in Stoke-on-Trent, meaning you won’t have far to travel to attend a session. Virtual training is also available
• We have a support group for birth children called ‘Kidz of Carerz’ who meet up about six times a year and do various outdoor activities and provide a safe place to talk
• You will be able to attend any or all events and support groups offered to you by Stoke on Trent Fostering Service as well as the Foster Carers Association
• You will be part of the direct network with the child social worker
• Stoke-on-Trent City Council does not make any profit from fostering, whereas some private fostering agencies are businesses that maximise return on investment for their shareholders
